NEW LAW

Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Act 2026 abolishes the flat-rate method. Since 1 June 2026, car loans use the fairer reducing-balance method with Effective Interest Rate (EIR). Many older calculators still show outdated flat-rate maths — ours is built for the new rules.

Why KiraDuit?

Which calculator should I use?

Not sure where to start? Here's a quick guide to what each tool answers.

How KiraDuit works

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser using the same formulas and published rates that Malaysian banks, lawyers and LHDN use — reducing-balance loan amortisation, the tiered ad valorem scale for stamp duty, and the holding-period bands for RPGT. Because nothing is sent to a server, the figures you type in stay private on your own device.

We also try to keep pace with the rules. Malaysian finance law changes regularly, and outdated calculators can quietly give the wrong answer — so where a rule has recently changed, we note the effective date and, where it helps, let you compare the old and new methods side by side. Each tool comes with a plain-language guide, a worked ringgit example and a short FAQ, so you understand how a result is reached rather than just seeing a number.

KiraDuit is completely free, with no account or sign-up. We keep it that way through advertising. All results are estimates only and not financial advice — always confirm the latest figures with your bank, lawyer or loan provider before making a decision. Read our full Disclaimer.
